BSAVA expands Guide to Nutrition
The guide contains independent advice on nutrition for professionals and pet owners.
The new edition includes advice on hospital nutrition and adverse food reactions.

The BSAVA has announced a new, expanded guide for veterinary professionals to help aid discussions about nutrition.

First published online in 2020, BSAVA's Guide to Nutrition contains independent advice for professionals and pet owners covering manufactured, grain-free, raw and home-prepared cooked diets.

Now, in a new, expanded edition, the BSAVA has updated the guide to include advice on:

  • hospital nutrition
  • critical care nutrition
  • adverse reactions to food
  • chronic kidney disease.
A BSAVA spokesperson said: 'The new factsheets build on considerations for feeding healthy dogs and cats by providing information on the formulation of diet types for pets under veterinary care and those with even more specific nutritional requirements.

'This expanded edition complements the BSAVA’s championing of the importance of nutrition in small animal practice.'
